Albany Break Free from Fossil Fuels 2016
MASS ACTION TO STOP BOMB TRAINS
Break Free is a series of 23 mass actions demanding to Keep Fossil Fuels In The Ground in 12 countries on 6 continents. Action occurred all across the globe during May 2016.

On May 14th in Albany, NY people from across the Northeast stopped the fracked oil trains in the port of Albany with their bodies. They stopped the “bomb train”, the presence of which is an act of environmental racism, class prejudice, and an illegal breach of the public trust. They made it clear that the health and safety of the residents of Albany matter, and that everyone has an ethical duty to secure the human rights of future generations when government has so dramatically failed to do so. Over a thousand people participated. Everyone needs to work to keep fossil fuels in the ground and support community health and safety, and the time to act is now.
